Most step counters show you a number. Walking Quest shows you a place.

Pick any two real cities — your hometown and somewhere you've always wanted to visit, or two cities you've never heard of and picked just for the name — and the distance between them becomes your step target. Every step you take moves you along that route. No treadmill numbers, no abstract goals: you're walking to Rome, from your block.

How the distance becomes a target

When you start a challenge, Walking Quest looks up the real-world distance between your chosen cities and turns it into a step goal. The app never fabricates steps — what it tracks is always the honest count from your phone or watch. What can change is how that distance gets translated into a finish line, which is exactly the logic covered in Fun mode vs. Real mode.

Why real cities?

A destination is a better motivator than a percentage. "3,412 steps to Madrid" means more than "34% of daily goal" — and it's the same step, counted the same honest way.

Watching the route fill in

As you rack up steps, your position moves along a route line between the two cities on a map inside the app — see how the route map and progress bar work for the full picture of what that view shows.

Syncing your steps

You don't log anything by hand. Walking Quest reads your steps automatically from Apple Health or Health Connect, so your route updates itself in the background — read more in automatic step-sync.
